Over the next few weeks we will be performing server migration of our legacy HELM shared hosting cluster that will affect approximately 1/3 of the websites hosted on HELM platform. The server migrations are neccessary to refresh the hardware of our legacy physical infrastructure and align all of our services with the cloud based hosting platform that we have built. Some of which is dating back as far as 2007. The migration process is setup in such a way that it should be hands-free for most customers since their sites and services will be copied and DNS updated automatically, ensuring a transparent transition. In some instances, for customers using third party DNS it will become necessary to re-map the DNS setting manually in order to update the IP address.

We will be migrating servers in batches of 2 or 3 per day to ensure that we can address any issues as they arise. During the migration process, we will be periodically?disabling access to the control panel to ensure critical operations are not disrupted by unintended change in configuration.

Scope of the migration:

Websites and databases hosted on servers IHOSTLLC06 through IHOSTLLC21 will be affected. The webmail, POP3, SMTP, IMAP4 services will not be affected. To ensure a trouble-free transition, please make sure your domains are resolving using our name servers (ns1.ihostasp.net, ns2.ihostasp.net). If you are using the 3rd party DNS, you will have to log in to the control panel DNS Zone editor in order to obtain the correct IP address and manually set up your DNS to reflect the IP change.

UPDATE 6/28/2015

We have completed the server migration this morning, all targeted servers have been moved. We have noticed number of customers submitting tickets and calling about their site(s) being "DOWN". In almost all cases this is the result of DNS. The easiest solution is to set your domain to use our name servers, we automatically updated correct A record IP when the site was moved. If you are using custom or third party DNS services, you need to update the IP address of your web server manually. The correct IP address is listed in the control panel under "Site Settings" section.

Please note name server IPs have changed!

If you are using our name servers (ns1.ihostasp.net,ns2.ihostasp.net), we have already updated all the settings and you do not have to perform any additional steps. If you have a re-seller account with custom name servers, you will have to update your name server IP with your registrar as follows:

ns1.your_custom_name.com - 209.190.184.179
ns2.your_custom_name.com - 207.54.144.190

If you are not sure how to do this and/or need your sites resolving ASAP, just use our name servers until you can resolve the DNS registration with your registrar.
